King Selwyn I Baratheon, the Brooding Storm was the only son of Stannis and King on the Iron Throne. Before his ascension to his throne, Selwyn was the Lord of Dragonstone, the First Lord Commander of the Iron Order, and served as both Master of Ships and Master of Laws for brief periods.
History[]
During his youth was held strictly to standard by his Father. Took the law to heart and was very serious. Stannis was not warm to young Selwyn, but Selwyn learn much in the way of tactics and strategy. He became the First Lord Commander of the Iron Order, a standing Army Stannis created to defend his interests and rulership. Selwyn would lead the army around Westeros, crushing brigand groups, mountain clans, and wildlings at the wall. Selwyn was noted to have hated ruling. Earned his nickname through his aggressive leadership.
When the time was appropriate, he wed a Lady of House Estermont.
He would later shirk the debt owed to the Iron Bank under the advice of his master of coin, a mistake that would cause a war when Rhaegar Targaryen was given a surplus of money and mercenary soldiers. The following rebellion would be known as the Second Targaryen Rebellion, or the Mercenary War. The surprise of the invasion and the extensive use of Viserion would do much damage to Westeros.
Once the brilliant Selwyn took the field, however, the Loyalists would relocate their footing and win many battles. Selwyn himself spearheaded the Royal Fleet, smashing the fleet of the Mercenaries and ending Rhaegar’s support.
Death[]
