Renly Baratheon was the Bronze Stag, also known as the King in Highgarden.

Renly led the largest army of the Three Stags. During the early March to Kings Landing Renly was noted to have taken a leisurely pace. Believing the war was his to win, Renly spent more time attempting to win the hearts of men through extravagant displays of wealth, tourneys, and donation of food. The most popular candidate, Renly had few problems marching on Kings Landing. Unfortunately, he was caught unawares by Tyrion Lannister, the Hand of the King, who had set up a trap for the Stag. Before Renly could double back and regather his forces with the approaching Tyrell force, news reached him of the arrival of the Targaryens, mounted upon young dragons. Forced to return to the Stormlands, Renly would forever be known as the Bronze Stag, as “pretty to look at but poor in battle”.

He would manage to successfully defend the Stormlands through numbers despite the clear tactical supremacy of Jon Connington, largely thanks to the size of his army. Due to Renly’s ability to absorb damage, the Targaryens would be forced out with two of their dragons slain and Aegon left crippled. Unfortunately, the damage to his armies caused by the dragons would essentially bring Renly down in manpower and he would later be forced to stand down to his brother, Stannis, who would send him to the wall. Renly would serve out his sentence begrudgingly.

He would have a son with Margaery Tyrell who would be given Storm's End.
